EPFO’s New Withdrawal Rules: 5 Quick Ways to Check Your PF Balance

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has introduced new withdrawal rules, making it easier for employees to access their provident fund savings.

Here are five seamless ways to check your PF balance:

1. Missed Call 📞
– Give a missed call to 9966044425 from your registered mobile number.
– You’ll receive an SMS with your PF account balance details.

2. SMS
– Send an SMS in the format EPFOHO UAN to 7738299899.
– For regional language support, add the language code after your UAN (e.g., EPFOHO UAN HIN for Hindi).

3. UMANG App
– Download the UMANG app and log in with your mobile number and OTP.
– Navigate to EPFO services and select “View Passbook” to check your balance.

4. EPFO Website
– Visit the EPFO website (http://www.epfindia.gov.in/) and log in to your account.
– Click on “Services” and select “Member Passbook” to view your PF balance.

5. Exempted Establishments
– If you work for an exempted establishment, check your PF balance by:
– Checking your salary slip
– Accessing your company’s internal employee portal
– Contacting your HR department

New Withdrawal Rules
– Withdraw up to 100% of your eligible balance, including employer contributions.
– Simplified categories for partial withdrawals: Essential Needs, Housing Needs, and Special Circumstances.
– Reduced minimum service period for withdrawals and liberalized limits for marriage and education withdrawals .
