Failure to file the Tax Returns will have following Consequences: Consequences of Late Filing
A) Late Fee (u/s 234F):
₹5,000 (income > ₹5 lakh)
₹1,000 (income ≤ ₹5 lakh)
B) Interest (u/s 234A/B/C): 1% per month on tax due
C) Loss Restriction: Business & capital losses cannot be carried forward for future set off of losses.
D) Refund Delay

A) Till 31st Dec 2025 → File Belated ITR
B) After 31st Dec 2025 → Only Updated ITR (u/s 139(8A)) possible (extra tax 25–50%)
